Thread veins
Thread veins are also known as spider veins, these are superficial veins which lie on the visible surface of the skin, sitting on the subcutaneous level of the skin which is the deepest layer of the skin. Thread veins generally occur more in woman than in men (commonly around the cheeks and nose), more so in those who are pregnant or those ladies who carry extra weight on their legs.
Thread veins can be hereditary and be down to poor blood circulation, wearing heels can also trigger thread veins, also standing up or sitting down for long periods of time. Thread veins are treated by the use of the Nd:YAG system which is a class 4 laser. This machine optimises the latest technology to bring a treatment that very few other machines can offer, results with minimal post treatment discomfort.
The treatments works by the thread veins absorbing the light from the device, the red colour in the thread vein sis attracted to the laser light. As the light is absorbed by the red pigment in the blood, the thread veins break down and are re-absorbed by the body resulting in the appearance of the thread veins minimising.
